Newburgh Enlarged City School District
Steve Sager is a seasoned professional in safety and security, currently serving as the Director of Safety and Security for the Newburgh Enlarged City School District since April 2025. Sager has held various positions in law enforcement and education, including Investigator II at the U.S. Center for SafeSport from March 2022 to April 2025 and Investigator for the Orange County District Attorney's Office from March 2017 to March 2022. Sager has extensive experience as a Safety Services Officer at MetLife Stadium and as a Sergeant for the New Windsor Police Department for nearly three decades. In addition to practical experience, Sager is an Adjunct Associate Professor at Orange County Community College since September 2012. Sager holds a Master's degree in Public Administration from John Jay College (CUNY) and a Bachelor's degree in Public Safety from Mercy University, complemented by training from the FBI National Academy in 2010.
