Michael Emmerson

Michael Emmerson currently serves as the Head of Data and Insights at Newcastle United Football Club, a position held since August 2022, and previously held various analytical roles at Chelsea Football Club from December 2013 to September 2022, including Head of Academy Performance Analysis and Lead U23 Performance Analyst. Emmerson gained experience as an Opposition Analyst for the England Women's Senior Team during the World Cup 2015, and worked as a Performance Analyst Consultant at Replay Analysis. Early career roles include coaching and performance analysis at Asia Pacific Football Academy and an internship at Chelsea Football Club. Emmerson began as a footballer at York City Football Club from 2007 to 2010. Educational qualifications include a Master of Research in Digital Technology from Loughborough University London and a BSc in Sports Science with Management from Loughborough University.
