Julian Buffam

Julian is a Partner at New Castle Hotels & Resorts and is responsible for the Company’s overall investment strategy and performance. In his leadership role, Julian oversees all aspects of the Investment Co., including asset management, business development and investor relations and serves as New Castle’s liaison to brand partners and industry groups.

Julian has been honing his leadership skills from an early age. At 6 years old, he was the youngest person in the world to receive a black belt in Taekwondo, training that paved the way for his disciplined commitment to establishing a career in hospitality. A double-major in Economics and Environmental Studies, Julian furthered his capabilities in these disciplines during his work abroad at a non-profit microfinance organization in Panama and volunteering among conservation specialists in South Africa. These diverse experiences are among many that helped shape Julian’s well-rounded business acumen and ability to always see the big picture among the granular details.

Julian’s dedication to achieving excellence in the underwriting process and refining New Castle’s investment strategies is informed by years of transaction, appraisal and feasibility study experience at prominent hospitality firms include HEI Hotels & Resorts and Hospitality Valuation Services (HVS). Since joining New Castle in 2017, Julian has further established the Company as a trusted and respected partner for a variety of institutional investors and developers.
