Grace Meils

Vice President For Advancement at Newfields

Grace Meils has extensive work experience spanning over several years. Grace started their career as a Curatorial Assistant at the Seattle Art Museum in 1999, where they assisted curators in exhibition preparation and acted as a liaison between departments. Grace then worked at the Pratt Fine Arts Center, first as a Grant Writer and Public Relations Coordinator, securing funding and managing the membership program, and later as the Director of Development and Communications, overseeing fundraising strategies and marketing efforts.

From 2003 to 2008, Grace worked at the Traver Gallery, initially as a Gallery Manager, where they managed exhibitions, sales, and marketing activities. Grace later became the Marketing and Communications Director, taking charge of all marketing efforts, branding, and overseeing special events. Grace then joined Newfields as a Membership and Annual Giving Officer and was responsible for designing and managing a membership and annual giving program.

Later, Grace worked at Ripley Auctions as a Specialist in Modern and Studio Glass and a Marketing Consultant, where they secured consignments for auctions, managed sales pipelines, and corresponded with buyers and consigners. Grace then returned to Newfields as the Director of Advancement, overseeing membership and annual giving programs and collaborating with department heads to integrate messaging across the organization. Grace'smost recent role was as the Vice President for Advancement at Newfields, where they led a team of advancement professionals and spearheaded fundraising strategies, board relations, and campaign management. Throughout their career, Grace has also worked as an independent curator and private art consultant, providing career development services for artists and organizing exhibitions.

Grace Meils earned their Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History and Anthropology from Indiana University Bloomington, where they attended from 1991 to 1996.
