Anthony Pennay has an extensive work experience spanning over two decades. Anthony began their career with Teach for America as a Teacher from 2000 to 2002. Following that, they worked as a Teacher at Woodrow Wilson Middle School, where they focused on creating engaging lessons and promoting student achievement. From 2002 to 2004, Anthony served as a Graduate Assistant at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, providing support to students in writing and assisting professors. Anthony joined SIG (Summer Institute for the Gifted) as an Instructor for a year from 2006 to 2007.

In 2010, Anthony joined the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library Foundation, where they took on multiple roles including Chief Learning Officer, Director of the Walter and Leonore Annenberg Presidential Learning Center, and Program Manager. During their time there, they collaborated with colleagues to create opportunities for cultivating citizen-leaders and worked with thousands of students and educators across the country.

Currently, Anthony holds the position of Senior Vice President of Strategic Growth at New Horizons, an organization that empowers individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through supported employment and community learning programs. In this role, they oversee the strategic growth initiatives and works towards empowering individuals with disabilities.

Earlier in their career, Anthony also worked as the Director of Curriculum Projects/Teacher at Sinai Akiba Academy from 2004 to 2009.

Anthony Pennay received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Literature and Film Studies from Claremont McKenna College from 1996 to 2000. Anthony then went on to pursue a Master of Arts degree in English at the University of Hawaii at Manoa from 2002 to 2004.
