Xu Ji has a strong background in software engineering and recommendation systems. XU started their career as a software engineer at Yahoo, where they worked on various recommendation modules and backend development. XU then moved on to Amazon, where they were involved in developing the External Fulfillment Platform and was a member of the technical committee. After that, they worked at Yidianzixun, one of the top mobile news applications in China, where they played a key role in developing recommendation modules and building a recommendation engineering team. Xu Ji then joined Particle Media, Inc. as the Tech Lead of Recommendation, leading a team responsible for homepage recommendation experience and metrics. Most recently, they are working as the Head of R&D in Seattle at News Break.
Xu Ji completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Software Engineering from Nankai University, which they attended from 2004 to 2008. After that, they pursued further education at Tsinghua University, where they completed a Master of Science degree in Computer Software Engineering from 2008 to 2011. In addition to their formal education, Xu Ji obtained a certification in "Functional Programming Principles in Scala" from Coursera in July 2014.
