Diane Schulman

Senior Vice President, Media Services at NewsBank

Diane Schulman has extensive experience in the media industry. From 2006 onwards, they worked at NewsBank as a Senior Vice President, where they managed licensing and maintained over 14,000 publisher relationships. Diane also led a team of Business Development direct reports and collaborated cross-functionally within the organization to drive sales growth. Prior to that, from 2001 to 2006, Diane served as Director of Publishing Services at ProQuest Information & Learning, where they focused on building and managing key relationships with major publishers such as the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Tribune Interactive, and USA TODAY.

Diane Schulman earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Creative Writing and Psychology from the University of Michigan, attending from 1977 to 1981. Diane then pursued a Master of Arts degree in Communication, General at Eastern Michigan University, where they studied from 1983 to 1989. In addition to their formal education, Diane obtained several certifications in creative writing. Diane completed the edX Professional Certificate for How to Write a Novel: Structure & Outline in April 2021, the edX Professional Certificate for How to Write a Novel: Edit & Revise in January 2021, and the edX Professional Certificate for How to Write a Novel: Writing the Draft in December 2020. Furthermore, they obtained the Creative Writing: The Craft of Style certification from Coursera in December 2017, the Creative Writing: The Craft of Setting and Description certification from Coursera in November 2017, the Creative Writing: The Craft of Character certification from Coursera in September 2017, and the Creative Writing: The Craft of Plot certification, also from Coursera, in August 2017.
