Kavya Mohankumar

Kavya Mohankumar serves as General Counsel at Newsela and has held prominent positions such as Vice President and Associate General Counsel. Previously, Kavya was an Adjunct Professor teaching Negotiations at the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. Professional experience also includes serving as Associate General Counsel and Senior Director for Corporate and Privacy at Rodan + Fields, and as Senior Director and Assistant General Counsel at Littler Mendelson, where responsibilities included Corporate Governance Counsel. Early career experience includes a role as a Technology and Media Associate at Clyde & Co LLP. Kavya earned a Doctor of Law (JD) from Santa Clara University School of Law and completed the first year of a Master of Science in Biology of Macromolecules at the University of Mumbai.
