Thoryn Haylett

Thoryn Haylett is a seasoned professional in the field of quality engineering and nuclear physics. Currently serving as a Senior Quality Engineer and Test Automation Engineer at Newton Investment Management since April 2019, Thoryn brings extensive experience from previous positions, including a PhD in Nuclear Physics from the University of York, where studies spanned from September 2014 to August 2018. Additional roles included being an Undergraduate Lab Demonstrator at the University of York Physics Department, facilitating practical learning for undergraduate students. Thoryn also contributed to public engagement initiatives as a Post Graduate Team Member at Binding Blocks, where involvement included creating educational materials related to Nuclear Physics. Early career experiences include volunteering as a runner at CAPTURE FILMS and serving as Assistant Commissioner at The Children's Commissioner's Office, focusing on youth engagement in Northeast England. Thoryn holds an MPhys in Physics from the University of York, completed in 2014.
