Tom Leyden

VP, Business Development at Nexamp

As Vice President of Business Development, Tom, who is based in New Jersey, focuses on mid-Atlantic opportunities to expand Nexamp’s menu of offerings for commercial and industrial customers, including behind-the-meter solar, energy storage, and EV charging. Floating solar and agrivoltaics are of particular interest to him as innovative means of creating value for customers and investors.

Tom was previously CEO of Solar Grid Storage, acquired by SunEdison in 2015 and has served in executive roles with other industry leaders including SunPower, SunEdison, and EDF Renewables. Early in his career, he spent time with WorldWater installing solar water-pumping and power systems in remote markets in Africa, Pakistan, and the Philippines.

A graduate of Princeton University, Tom has held numerous leadership positions in both community service and the solar industry, including President of Mid-Atlantic SEIA, board member of national SEIA, and Chairman of PV Now. Tom was an All-American lacrosse player and still plays in tournaments twice a year.
