Head of SME Proposition Offer / Pricing / GTM at Nexi Group

Giovanni Montagna has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Giovanni started their career in 2006 as a Product Manager at Nestlé Italy, where they worked on brands like Friskies and Purina One. Giovanni then joined FIERRE S.R.L. as a Sales representative, managing national and international B2B customers and prospects in the fire fighting equipment industry. In 2007, Giovanni joined IBM as a Client Representative in the Financial Services sector, and also participated in the Graduate Training Program SW Europe in the same year. After their time at IBM, they moved to American Express, where they held positions as a Client Manager for Premium Retail & Luxury and subsequently as a Senior Client Manager for Small Merchants in Italy. In 2017, Giovanni joined Nexi Italy as a Sales Manager and Head of SME Factory Sales & Complementary Channels Planning, responsible for developing the Small & Medium Enterprise Factory Telesales unit and expanding the Direct Sales Acquisition through additional sales channels. In 2023, they transitioned to Nexi Group as the Head of SME Proposition Offer/Pricing/GTM, overseeing the Pricing, Offer Portfolio Management, and Go To Market Retail Initiatives involving POS and Cards Acquiring Solutions across all Nexi Sales Channels.

Giovanni Montagna completed their education at Università Bocconi. From 2001 to 2004, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. Following this, they obtained a Master of Science degree in Marketing Management from the same university between 2004 and 2006.

In addition to their formal education, Giovanni has acquired several certifications throughout their career. In 2002, they obtained the ECDL certification from ECDL/ICDL Certification. Giovanni also achieved the FCE (First Certificate in English) from the British Council in 2003 and the BEC (Business English Certificate) from the same institution in 2006. Giovanni further enhanced their skills by participating in the Solution Selling® workshop offered by Sales Consulting Partners, though the exact date of completion is unknown.

Furthermore, they completed the Graduate Training Program SW Europe 2007 - Global Sales School, EMEA Program by IBM in May 2007. Giovanni expanded their knowledge through the Customer Management Leaders Masterclass conducted by MIP Politecnico di Milano in October 2018. Giovanni also participated in the CDP Academy - Leadership Pipeline 2022 offered by CDP Cassa Depositi e Prestiti; however, the completion date is unspecified. Lastly, Giovanni earned the American Express Master Degree certification from American Express in June 2015.
