Derek Thomson

Derek Thomson is a seasoned executive with extensive experience in operational leadership within the engineering and construction sectors. Currently serving as Chief Operating Officer at Global E&C since June 2021, Derek has overall accountability for operational performance, overseeing key deliverables across various business divisions. Prior roles include Vice President for Technical Services & Projects at Global E&C, Operations Director and Contract Manager at Worley, UK Engineering & Maintenance Manager at Dana Petroleum Plc, Modifications & Projects Manager at Fairfield Energy, and several management positions at Total E&P UK Ltd, including E&I Projects Manager and Engineering Manager. Derek began their career at Wood Group as Head of Wellbay and Modifications. Derek holds an MSc in Project Management from the University of Aberdeen.
