Hector Ortega, MD, ScD, has an extensive education history spanning from 1979 to 1996. Hector began their education at the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México, where they earned a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree in 1985 with a specialization in Medicine. Following this, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree at the same university from 1986 to 1988.

In 1989, Hector Ortega embarked on a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in Allergy and Clinical Immunology at the National Children's Hospital in Tokyo, Japan, where they conducted research in their field of study. This fellowship lasted for one year, ending in 1990.
