Lisa Wittmer has extensive experience in the pharmaceutical and biotech industry. Lisa currently holds the position of Chief Development Officer (CDO) at Nexstone Immunology since January 2022. Before joining Nexstone Immunology, Lisa worked at Venatorx Pharmaceuticals, Inc. as the Chief Development Officer and Advisor from May 2018 to March 2022.
Prior to that, Lisa served as a Mentor In Residence at the Penn Center for Innovation's Pennovation Center of Innovation from 2016 to 2022. Lisa also founded Theorogen, LLC in 2011, where they held leadership positions until the present.
In their earlier career, Lisa held various roles at AMO Pharma LTD from July 2014 to December 2016, including Chief Operating Officer and Head of Portfolio Development. Lisa was also a Partner at NeXeption, LLC from May 2011 to July 2014.
Before that, Lisa worked at Ceptaris Therapeutics, Inc. as the VP of Development and Global Regulatory Affairs from February 2011 to March 2013.
Lisa started their career at Shire in 2002, where they held several positions, including VP & General Manager of Emerging Products, R&D Lead for New Product Assessment, and Senior Director of Global Regulatory Affairs. Lisa was also the Director of Regulatory Affairs at Otsuka Pharmaceutical Companies (U.S.) from 1999 to 2002.
Lisa Wittmer has a diverse education history. Lisa started by obtaining a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemistry & Mathematics from the University of Detroit Mercy from 1988 to 1991. Lisa then pursued further studies at Washington University in St. Louis, where they earned a Master of Science (MS) degree in Chemistry from 1991 to 1993. Lisa continued their education at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis and completed their PhD in Molecular Biophysics and Pharmacology from 1991 to 1996. During this time, they also obtained a second Master of Science (MS) degree in Chemistry and Molecular Biophysics from Washington University in St. Louis. Following their PhD, they went to Duke University School of Medicine for their post-doctoral studies in Neurobiology, which they completed in 1997. Additionally, Lisa holds multiple Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees, including one in Neurobiology and Molecular Biophysics from Washington University in St. Louis.
