Michael Heller

Michael Heller is an Advisor at Next Gen HQ. Michael previously worked as a Blue Coat Proxy Engineer at Jacobs from May 2018 to November 2020. In this role, they were responsible for configuring, supporting, and documenting the Blue Coat ProxySG system and ongoing processes while creating stand operating procedures (SOP). Michael also maintained and configured Symantec Content Analysis Systems (CAS) and Malware Analysis Appliances (MAA) for scanning all incoming traffic for the Enterprise environment, alerting on anti-virus or malware events, and sandboxing all incoming malware to the Enterprise.

Prior to their work at Jacobs, Heller served as a Symantec Blue Coat Proxy Administrator/Engineer. Michael provided enterprise-level proxy design, support, and troubleshooting expertise in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Michael also supported the Cyber Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT) by providing technical guidance for Blue Coat rules, policies, configurations, and day-to-day operations.

Heller has a solid working knowledge of network protocols and concepts, including IP routing/switching, network protocols with an emphasis on security concepts, and experience with troubleshooting web applications and browsers. Michael is currently working 24/7 as an administrator as well as an architect/engineer for implementing changes within the system.
