Mark Flintoff

Mark Flintoff is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in various leadership roles across multiple organizations. Currently serving as the Commercial and Financial Manager at Next Generation Critical Communications since May 2023, Mark previously held significant positions at the Ministry of Education of New Zealand as Chief Financial Officer and Manager Business Group Finance from January 2016 to March 2023. Prior roles include Acting Deputy CFO and Manager Business Group Finance at the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, Director of Performance & Business Services at Capital Coast Health, Finance Manager at KiwiRail Mechanical Services Limited, and Director of Finance & HR at Central Bottling International Limited. Mark holds an ACMA degree in Accounting and completed education at Whitcliffe Mount School and Birkenshaw Middle School.

Next Generation Critical Communications Lead Entity

The Next Generation Critical Communications Lead Entity (NGCC), Poutama Whai Tikanga Pāpāho, is the government’s leading advisor on critical communications for public safety in New Zealand. Established in 2020, the NGCC Lead Entity supports healthier, safer and more connected communities throughout New Zealand. We work with agencies and companies on programmes to enhance public safety operations through sharing innovation, developing capability and leading the implementation of change. Our team of critical communications experts and corporate professionals is responsible for the Public Safety Network Te Kupenga Marutau (PSN), one of government’s largest infrastructure initiatives. The PSN will begin to deliver modern, secure digital communications from 2023 through a new national radio network, cellular services and personal alerting for Hato Hone St John, Fire and Emergency NZ, Wellington Free Ambulance and Police.
