Jake Hawkins

Jake Hawkins is an experienced professional in the furniture and design industry, currently serving as Lead Technologist at Next since September 2016, with prior roles as Senior Product Technologist and Product Technologist focused on Downstairs Furniture. From April 2015 to February 2022, Jake worked as a Manufacturing Consultant and Furniture Designer at The Modern Maker's Institute, assisting small businesses and craftsmen in bespoke design production across the UK. Previous experience includes positions as CAD Consultant and CNC Manufacturer at CNC Projects and Object CAD/CAM Solutions, where innovative design and manufacturing techniques were emphasized. Jake also has experience as a CNC Programmer at Woodteam Ltd. and a Plumbers Apprentice at C Hawkins of Chesterfield Ltd. Jake holds a BA in Furniture and Product Design from Nottingham Trent University, attained between 2008 and 2013.
