Karen Weber

Managing Director at NextCap Search

Karen Weber is the Managing Director at NextCap Search. Prior to this, they were a Search Consultant at Gray Scalable from February 2019 to February 2020, where they led and executed searches for growth-stage companies. Karen has also held the position of Principal at The Capstone Partnership from July 2013 to February 2019, executing searches in Investment Banking, Corporate Finance and Strategy, and Investment Management.

Before their career in search consulting, Karen received their Ph.D. from New York University in May 2013, studying Modern European Theirtory with a specialization in Russian and East European Theirtory. Her graduate studies were funded by the MacCracken Fellowship (NYU), Fulbright Award, Penfield Award (NYU), and Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst. While a graduate student, they taught various history courses as a sole instructor or teaching assistant at NYU and The Cooper Union. Prior to their graduate studies, Karen worked as a Program Assistant for the Step by Step Education Program at the Open Society Foundations from August 2004 to August 2006.

Karen Weber attended Columbia University in the City of New York, where they received their Bachelor of Arts in Russian Studies with a Focus on Political Science. Karen then went on to study at St. Petersburg State University in Russia before completing their doctorate at New York University in Theirtory.

They work with Ira Ellman - Senior Advisor, Tom Labadie - Partner, and Christine Perez - Executive Assistant. Karen Weber reports to Jill Feldman, Managing Partner.
