Jimmy Jea

Jimmy Jea started their professional career at Accenture as a Software Engineer in June 2015. Jimmy worked on the Search team, where they created reusable UI components using React and implemented key production features for the Search & Browse application. In addition, they set up Redux state management architecture and followed company-wide conventions for writing Node and React code.

In May 2016, Jimmy transitioned to the Grocery team at Walmart Labs, where they owned end-to-end features and wrote extensive automation tests. Jimmy also led meetings and discussions on application state management, payload formatting, and UI design with various teams.

After their time at Walmart Labs, Jimmy joined Pinterest as a Software Engineer in June 2017. Jimmy worked on the Ad Formats team, collaborating with designers, product managers, and engineering managers to build and ship advertising products. In January 2020, Jimmy transitioned to the role of a Senior Software Engineer at Pinterest, specializing in Shopping Catalogs Infrastructure. In this role, they led a large-scale migration from Hive to Spark, improved observability and debugging processes, and reduced on-call pages by 50% for their team of six.

Currently, Jimmy is working as a Senior Software Engineer at Nextdoor, starting in March 2023.
