Sara Staszak

Sara Staszak has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and industries. Sara began their career as a Lifeguard at Indy Parks and Recreation in 2010 and continued in that role until 2011. Sara then worked as an Intern at Exodus Refugee Immigration from May to August 2011.

In 2012, Sara worked as a Summer Student at Eli Lilly and Company, where they conducted an access review of users of a clinical trial database and created guidance documents for process streamlining. Sara also worked as a Preceptor at Macalester College from September to December 2012.

In 2013, Sara took on the role of Student Researcher at the Institute for Mathematics and its Applications. Sara worked in a team to detect anomalies in data using dictionary learning algorithms, with applications to image de-noising and identifying structural defects.

From 2014 to 2020, Sara worked as a Technical Research Assistant at MDRC. During their time there, they gained experience in technical research and assistance.

In 2014, Sara returned to Macalester College as a Preceptor for a brief period from January to May.

Most recently, Sara joined Seyfarth Shaw LLP in August 2021 as an Associate Data Scientist. Sara worked in this role until May 2022.

In June 2022, Sara started working as a Data Scientist at Nextdoor, where they currently hold the position.

Sara Staszak attended Macalester College from 2010 to 2014, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics and Statistics. Prior to that, they completed their high school education at Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School from 2006 to 2010. The field of study during their high school years is not specified.
