David Wechsler

David Wechsler is a seasoned tax professional with extensive experience in property tax management and planning. Currently serving as Managing Tax Counsel/Director of Property Tax at NextEra Energy, Inc. since July 2019, David oversees property tax planning and compliance for all NextEra assets across the lower 48 states. Previously, David held roles at ExxonMobil from August 2012 to June 2019, including Tax Attorney and Property Tax Agent, where significant achievements included negotiating over $15 million in property tax liability reductions. David began a career in commercial real estate consultation at Lanamation LLC, and holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Houston Law Center and a Bachelor's degree from The University of Texas at Austin.
