James May

James May is currently the VP, Controller & Chief Accounting Officer at NextEra Energy. James previously worked as the Corporate Controller at NextEra Energy Resources from July 2013 to February 2019. Prior to that, James worked as a Senior Manager at Deloitte from September 2008 to July 2013 where they provided financial accounting and reporting services to clients, advised them on changing accounting requirements, and consulted on technical accounting issues. James has a wealth of experience in the accounting and finance field and has played a key role in helping NextEra Energy become one of the leading energy companies in the world.

James May has a Master of Accounting from the University of Florida. James has been working in the accounting field for over 10 years and is currently a certified public accountant.
