Jay Carrière

Jay Carrière serves as the Executive Director of Federal Government Affairs at NextEra Energy, Inc. since April 2021, where responsibilities include senior lobbying efforts focused on federal regulatory advocacy in Congress and various governmental bodies. Previously, Carrière held the position of Senior Director of Federal Government Affairs at GridLiance from 2016 to 2021, overseeing federal and state legislative affairs and advocacy strategies until the company was acquired by NextEra. Carrière's experience includes a decade at Berkshire Hathaway Energy as Director of Federal Government Affairs, and prior roles at PacifiCorp and Edison Electric Institute in regulatory affairs. Educational credentials include a BA in Political Science from Emory University and a Master of Public Policy from Georgetown University McCourt School of Public Policy.
