Kester Thompson

Kester Thompson is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in the nuclear energy sector. Currently serving as the Nuclear Staff Engineer at NextEra Energy, Inc. since October 2012, Kester manages the Steam Generator Program for the company's nuclear power plants. Previously, Kester held the position of Equipment Reliability Chief Engineer, providing senior oversight for equipment reliability across the nuclear fleet. Prior experience includes serving as Mechanical Chief Engineer and Performance Test Engineer at Florida Power & Light Company, overseeing multiple critical governance programs and conducting thermal performance analyses. Kester's career commenced at Progress Energy as a Sr. Mechanical Systems Engineer at a dual-unit nuclear boiling water reactor power plant. Kester holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University and a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from The City College of New York.
