John Hennessey

Mr. Hennessey has over twenty years of executive leadership, investment banking, and corporate finance experience. Prior to joining NextGen in 2013, he worked in Citigroup’s middle market M&A division in New York from 1998 to 2005 and establishing McGladrey Capital Markets’ Boston office from 2005 to 2009. Following a career in investment banking, Mr. Hennessey became CEO of a private equity backed software company where he transformed the family run business into a professional run organization, ultimately leading to its successful sale to a Fortune 500 company. He possesses deep operational and transactional experience, having led all aspects of a transaction from origination to integration, and has advised hundreds of companies and been involved in capital raising, sell-side, and buy-side of the M&A process in a variety of industries with a focus on business services and industrial companies. Mr. Hennessey studied plastics engineering at the University of Massachusetts at Lowell and holds a Bachelor of Science in finance from California State University Long Beach, and he earned his Master of Business Administration from Pepperdine University.
