Brad Hennessie is the current CEO at NextStep Robotics. Brad was previously the Lead Clinical Research Specialist at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, where they managed the day to day operations and long-term goals of a group of researchers focused on stroke, stroke recovery and other neurological conditions. This included local and national regulatory compliance, budget management, procurement, and staff management. Brad assisted with the development, organization and submission of over $25,000,000 in federal and local research grants, including successfully funded NIH grants, Veterans Affairs grants and local business initiative grants. Brad also worked within the Maryland Exercise and Robotics Center of Excellence (MERCE) to ensure research compliance on both scientific and regulatory standard levels. MERCE is currently operating with over $6.5M in federal funding and has previously operated with as much as ~$10M in federal funding. Hennessie oversaw staff/procedures of the Human Motor Performance Lab in the Baltimore VA where training and testing of our rehabilitation robotics studies are conducted.
Brad Hennessie has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Maryland University College, a Master of Science (MS) in Health/Health Care Administration/Management from the University of Maryland University College, and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from Towson University. Brad also attended Oakland mills high school.
