Karen Smith

Karen Smith's work experience includes various positions in finance, analysis, and management. In 2001, they started as a Market Analyst at GMAP / EuroDirect ltd. From 2003 to 2006, they worked as an Analyst at the UK Home Office. Karen then joined the Department for Education and Skills as a Senior Analyst from 2006 to 2009. From 2010 to 2017, they held multiple roles at the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, including Head of Student Numbers Analysis, Delivery Manager, and Finance Business Partner. From 2017 to 2019, they served as the School Business Manager at The Belham Primary School. Karen then worked at Sheffield South East Trust, first as a Financial Controller from 2019 to 2021, and then as the Chief Financial Officer from 2021 to 2022. Currently, Karen holds the position of Chief Financial Officer at Nexus Multi Academy Trust starting from April 2022.

Karen Smith earned their Bachelor's Degree in Geography from the University of Leeds, which they attended from 1998 to 2001. In 2014, they obtained a Diploma in Management Accounting from CIMA, which they completed in 2017.
