ALAN FETTINGER

Alan Fettinger has worked as a Robotics Engineer at Neya Systems since 2022. Prior to this, they were a Staff Software Engineer at Lockheed Martin from 2008-2022, where they worked as part of an agile team to meet customer expectations. During their time there, they designed and implemented a system with multiple UAVs and UGVs for a marine corps squad, developed processes for generating cost maps and semantic maps from prior data, designed and implemented an obstacle detection and avoidance algorithm for UGVs, transitioned backend from custom proprietary databases to a postgres/postgis database, implemented and optimized a multithreaded viewshed calculation to meet customer demand for lower latency, and supported system field testing with the marine corps. From 2007-2008, Alan Fettinger worked as a Software Engineer at Perceptek.

Alan Fettinger obtained their Master of Science in Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2006, after beginning their studies in 2001.
