Waseem Ahmed

Waseem Ahmed has extensive work experience in various roles related to auditing and finance. Waseem is currently the Group Head of Internal Audit at NFU Mutual since October 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Wesleyan Assurance Society where they held multiple positions including Head of FP&A and Accounting Operations, Chief of Staff, and Head of Internal Audit from 2016 to 2021. Before that, they served as the Global Head of Internal Audit at Computershare Investor Services from 2004 to 2015. Waseem also has experience in the healthcare sector as Chair of Audit Committee and Non-Executive Director at NHS South Gloucestershire from 2006 to 2011. Waseem began their career as a Senior Business Auditor at Zurich Financial Services in 2000 and later became an Audit Manager at KPMG from 1995 to 2000.

Waseem Ahmed began their education at Whitefield Fishponds School from 1985 to 1992. Waseem then attended the University of Birmingham from 1992 to 1995, where they obtained a BCom degree in Accounting. In 1998, Waseem obtained another certification, the FCA, from ICAEW. Waseem also received the CISA certification in Computer and Information Systems Security/Information Assurance from ISACA in September 2015. Most recently, they completed the Certificate in Company Direction from the Institute of Directors (IoD) in November 2018, earning the additional certification of Dip IoD.
