Matthew Clay

Matthew Clay is currently serving as the Chief Digital & Technology Officer at NHBC since March 2021. Prior to this, they worked as the Director at MRJClay Consultancy Limited from January 2019 to March 2021, where they led business transformation and successfully implemented a SAP ERP system. Before that, they held the position of Managing Director, Bespoke Products Division at Forterra PLC from March 2011 to June 2018, where they achieved significant growth in EBITDA and transformed the business. From November 2004 to February 2011, they worked as the IT Director, Europe at Hanson Ltd, responsible for IT strategy and managing a team of 150 staff. Matthew also has experience as the Head of IT at MITIE from February 1999 to October 2004, and as the Group Systems Manager at FirstGroup from April 1996 to January 1999.

Matthew Clay attended Lancaster University from 1983 to 1987, where they pursued a BSC[hons] degree in Physical Electronic Engineering.
