Dr Caroline O'Keeffe

Clinical Lead For Urgent And Emergency Care at NHS Hampshire and Isle of Wight Integrated Care Board

Dr. Caroline O'Keeffe serves as the Medical Director and Deputy CEO at North Hampshire Urgent Care since September 2021. In addition, Dr. O'Keeffe is a member of the NICE Guidelines Committee and has contributed to the development of guidelines related to the assessment and management of suspected acute respiratory infections in adults. With a background as Clinical Lead for Urgent and Emergency Care at the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Integrated Care Board, Dr. O'Keeffe also holds a trustee position at St. Michael's Hospice and recently completed a tenure as Operations Director at WEMSI International, where advanced wilderness medical training was provided. An alumnus of the University of Bristol and the NHS Leadership Academy, Dr. O'Keeffe has accumulated extensive experience in diverse medical environments, including pre-hospital care and expedition support.

The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Integrated Care Board (ICB) is the statutory organisation responsible for setting the strategic plan for the NHS to deliver its part of the health and care strategy. It allocates NHS resources and works through our four places (Hampshire, Southampton, Isle of Wight and Portsmouth) and our transformation programmes to make sure the right health services are being delivered to people across the area. The Hampshire and Isle of Wight ICB is made up of the former Portsmouth Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and Hampshire, Southampton and Isle of Wight CCG. We work closely with our partners within the wider Integrated Care System to support our communities to stay as healthy as possible.
