Dr. Roddy Macdonald is a highly experienced medical professional currently serving as a General Practitioner within the NHS since July 2024. Prior to this role, Dr. Macdonald held the position of Chief Medical Officer at Birmingham City FC from September 2021 to July 2024 and was a General Practitioner Partner at Benbecula Medical Practice / Uist and Barra Hospital from July 2019 to September 2021. Dr. Macdonald has extensive experience in sports medicine, having served as Head of Sport and Exercise Medicine at several prestigious football clubs including Aston Villa FC, Celtic FC, and Newcastle United FC, contributing to the development of advanced sports science programs and achieving notable successes on the field.
