Kei Kawai

Kei Kawai is an accomplished executive currently serving as Chief Product Officer at Niantic, Inc. since October 2015, where Kei leads the Product team for the Lightship Platform, fostering the development of massively multiplayer, location-based augmented reality experiences. In addition to overseeing Niantic's Tokyo Studio, Kei has held several key roles at Niantic, including Vice President of Product Management, focusing on creating innovative geospatial AR experiences, and Product Management Director. Prior to Niantic, Kei worked at Google from August 2007 to September 2015, progressing to Group Product Manager and overseeing major product lines such as Street View and Google Maps. Early career experience includes a role as Marketing Manager at IBM for the Linux line of business. Kei holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and an M.A. in Media and Governance from Keio University.
