Dr. Davita Lancelin has a diverse range of work experience. Dr. Davita started their career in 2011 at the Louisiana Department of Education, where they served as an Educational Program Consultant and later became a Louisiana TAP Executive Master Teacher. In 2016, they joined the NIET: National Institute for Excellence in Teaching, where they held various roles including Senior Program Specialist, LA BOLD Project Director, Director of Louisiana and LA BOLD, and Executive Director of Service Operations. Currently, they are serving as the Vice President of Services at NIET.
Dr. Davita Lancelin pursued their education chronologically starting with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and Teaching from Southern University and A&M College-Baton Rouge, which they completed between 1993 and 1998. Later, they attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette Graduate School, earning a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Educational Leadership and Administration, with a focus on General Education. This degree was obtained from 2005 to 2007. Finally, they pursued a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership and Administration from the same institution, completing it between 2014 and 2017.

NIET also supports districts and schools to implement the comprehensive TAP System, an educator effectiveness model that restructures and revitalizes the teaching profession by providing teachers with powerful opportunities for career advancement, ongoing professional development, a fair evaluation system and performance-based compensation.
