Donald Omang is an accomplished public health professional currently serving as a Surveillance Support Officer at the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control since February 2020. In this role, Donald supports the implementation of SORMAS in Cross River State and assists the state epidemiologist in developing outbreak preparedness and response strategies. This includes providing technical support to the state epidemic preparedness and response committee and enhancing coordination between surveillance and laboratory teams. In addition to this position, Donald is a postgraduate student at the University of Calabar, engaging in research work. Donald holds a Doctorate of Public Health (DrPH) with a focus on Environmental Health, a Master’s degree in Public Health from the University of Calabar, and a Bachelor's degree in Microbiology from Cross River University of Technology.
