Mele Kyari

Mele Kyari's work experience includes their current role as the Group Chief Executive Officer at NNPC Limited, which they began in July 2019. Prior to this, they served as the Group General Manager of the Crude Oil Marketing Division at NNPC, where they were responsible for ensuring optimal determination and securing government entitlements of crude oil and gas production, supervising operations of crude oil and gas terminals, and creating systems for transparency and accountability in sales. Additionally, Kyari served as Nigeria's National Representative on the OPEC Economic Commission Board starting in May 2018. Earlier in their career, they held various roles at NNPC, including General Manager of Crude Oil Stock Management and Manager of Production Contracts Management. Before joining NNPC, Kyari worked as a Field Geologist at the Nigerian Geological Survey Agency and as a Well Site Geologist at DFRRI during their NYSC service.

Mele Kyari attended the University of Maiduguri and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Geology/Earth Science, General in 1987.
