John Billingsley is a seasoned software engineer currently serving as a Senior Software Engineer at Night School: A Netflix Game Studio since January 2024. Previously, John worked at Blizzard Entertainment as a Software Engineer focused on gameplay for Hearthstone, where responsibilities included leading the development of various systems and mentoring outsourcing partners. Prior to that, John gained experience at Nix Hydra and USC Games, contributing to the development of interactive games and collaborating closely with creative teams. As a Creative Director and Lead Engineer at UnNaturalism Inc., John led a team to develop a multiplayer FPS game while also designing engaging gameplay mechanics. John holds a Master’s Degree in Interactive Media and Games from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from Case Western Reserve University.
