N. Asger Mortensen

N. Asger Mortensen is a distinguished academic currently serving as the DNRF Center of Excellence Leader at POLIMA and a full professor in nano optics at the University of Southern Denmark since May 2017. With extensive experience in physics and engineering, Mortensen holds the DIAS Chair of Physics and Technical Science at the Danish Institute for Advanced Study. Additionally, Mortensen functions as a scientific advisor at NIL Technology and has contributed to the VILLUM FONDEN & VELUX FONDEN as a VILLUM Investigator, leading a six-year research project on quantum plasmonics. Mortensen's previous roles include being a DNRF Key Investigator at the Center for Nanostructured Graphene and a professor in Advanced Optical Materials at the Technical University of Denmark. Mortensen's educational background includes a Dr. Scient. in Condensed Matter and Materials Physics and multiple degrees from the Technical University of Denmark, complemented by a certificate in Global Management from INSEAD and a research management course from Copenhagen Business School.
