Villads Egede Johansen

Villads Egede Johansen has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. In 2007, they worked as an Assistant Teacher at Danmarks Tekniske Universitet, where they taught various math subjects and corrected assignments until 2009. From 2008 to 2009, they served as a Bartender at Zum Biergarten. In 2008, they also worked part-time as an Electrical Development and Test employee at Weibel Scientific. In 2010, Villads co-founded it-triumviratet, and their involvement lasted until 2014. From 2011 to 2014, they were a Ph.D. student at DTU Mechanical Engineering, focusing on modeling the electromagnetic surface properties of processed aluminum. In 2015, they joined the Technical University of Denmark as a Post.doc. researcher until June 2015. Then, from July 2015 to March 2016, they worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the chemistry department of the University of Cambridge, where they focused on bio-inspired photonics. From March 2016 to March 2018, they became a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellow at the same university, working on modeling and understanding disorder in natural photonics and bio-inspired photonics. In 2018, Villads joined Oqton, Inc. as a Senior Software Engineer until April 2019. Currently, they are working as an Optical Design Engineer at NIL Technology, starting in May 2019.

Villads Egede Johansen began their education in 1992 at Ny Hollænder-skolen, where they completed their primary and secondary education. From 2002 to 2005, they attended Frederiksberg HTX and obtained a Teknisk studentereksamen, specializing in Math and Physics. Following this, from 2005 to 2008, they pursued a BsC in Electrical engineering (high frequency) at DTU - Technical University of Denmark. Villads furthered their studies at DTU from 2008 to 2010, completing an MsC in the same field. Finally, from 2010 to 2014, Villads Egede Johansen earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Optics/Optical Sciences from the Technical University of Denmark.
