Gwen Shapira

Gwen (Chen) Shapira is a seasoned technology professional with extensive experience in software engineering, product management, and team leadership. Currently serving as Co-Founder and CPO at Nile since January 2022, Gwen previously held key roles at Confluent, including Engineering Leader for the Cloud Native Kafka team, contributing to significant team growth and improvements in Kafka cluster performance. Gwen has a strong background in designing scalable data processing solutions at Cloudera, and consulting on database problems at Pythian. Additional experience includes roles as a Database Administrator at HP Software and Mercury Interactive, and web development at slangsoft. Gwen holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science and Statistics from Tel Aviv University and has educational experience at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
