Mark McDermott

Mark McDermott has extensive work experience in various industries and roles. Mark currently holds the position of Chief Operating Officer (Interim) at Nillion since April 2023. Prior to that, they were the Founding Team Head of Ecosystem at Nillion from March 2022 to April 2023.

Before joining Nillion, Mark worked at Nike as the head of Innovation Partnerships at the European Technology Innovation Office (TIO) from March 2021 to April 2022.

Mark also served as a Product Advisor at Shelter UK from June 2020 to March 2021 and as a Global Product Architect at Innovation Group UK from September 2018 to March 2020.

Mark has entrepreneurial experience as the Founder & CEO of GoShow, a digital media platform connecting brands and media to filmmakers, from July 2015 to March 2020.

Mark has also worked as the Chief Strategy Officer at Aurorastone Jewellery, providing strategic expertise within the diamond industry, from January 2017 to February 2019.

Prior to that, Mark held senior positions at River Island as a Product Manager from November 2014 to May 2017 and at Ralph Lauren as a Senior Product Manager from November 2010 to June 2014, where they led scrum teams and collaborated with senior directors and VPs internationally.

Before transitioning into the corporate world, Mark was a Pro Snowboarder at Mr Price Apparel from January 2008 to December 2008 and at Luxottica from October 2006 to January 2009.

Mark McDermott attended Oxford Brookes University from 1999 to 2001, where they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing and Business Management. In the same year, they also attended Damelin and obtained a Diploma in Marketing and Business Management. Additionally, Mark holds certifications in Advanced Open Water Diver and Open Water Diver from PADI, as well as a Summit certification from Climbing Kilimanjaro.
