Zak Catherall

Zak Catherall has a range of work experience spanning from 2012 to the present. Zak started their career as a Fabricator at Norking Aluminium Limited, where they worked in a team to meet product deadlines and operated heavy machinery. Zak then worked as a Membership Consultant at Xercise4Less, where they reached out to current members and used sales techniques to convert leads into paying members. Zak also worked as a Storeman & FLT Operator at GLASSOLUTIONS Saint-Gobain, where they developed store layouts and recorded stock movement.

In 2014, Zak took on the role of a Sales Assistant, Kitchen Assistant, and Delivery Driver at Bella Pizza. Following that, they worked as a Kitchen Assistant at Mr Fish. Zak then served in the British Army as an Officer Cadet, where they developed leadership skills and provided security for barrack events.

Zak's career then shifted towards software and technology. Zak worked as a Software Tester at The University of Hull, creating and executing test cases for a new student information system. Zak also received formal training and qualification in software testing. Later, Zak joined GE Healthcare as a Software Engineer, where they worked on innovative projects in an agile manner, focusing on engineering and developing prototype solutions to enhance diagnostic capabilities.

From 2022 to 2023, Zak worked as a Software Development Consultant at Infinity Works. Currently, they are employed as a Consulting Software Engineer at Nimble Approach.

Zak Catherall began their education in 2015 at Sheffield City College, where they pursued a course in Access to HE - Computing. Zak completed this program in 2016. Following this, from 2016 to 2021, Zak attended the University of Hull, majoring in Computer Science with a specialization in Games Development (Software Engineering).

In addition to their formal education, Zak also obtained several certifications throughout their academic journey. In 2017, they earned the BCS ISTQB Software Testing Foundation certification from the ISTQB - International Software Testing Qualifications Board. Zak also completed a solo course on SQL Fundamentals through SoloLearn in the same year. In 2018, Zak received the Mod B certificate of completion from the British Army. Zak further expanded their skillset with a Certificate of Completion in C# through SoloLearn in 2017.

Moreover, Zak enhanced their professional development by obtaining the "Articulating Your Value" certification from LinkedIn in August 2021. Lastly, they engaged for 30 hours as a STEM Ambassador during the 2018/2019 period, which was facilitated by STEM Learning.
