Sravanthi Devi Guggilapu, Ph.D.

Sr. Scientist at Nimble Therapeutics

Sravanthi Devi Guggilapu, Ph.D. has a diverse work experience beginning in 2017. Sravanthi Devi was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Maryland (UMD) and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Research Service (ARS), where they worked on projects such as the synthesis of all eight stereoisomers of sesquipiperitols, a key intermediate in harlequin bug pheromone biosynthesis, process development and synthesis of hydroxyketone, a flee beetle pheromone, and GCMS method development, identification and analysis of pheromone collections from various stink bugs. From 2019 to 2021, they were a Postdoctoral Researcher at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), where they conducted medicinal chemistry studies on the composition and behavior of antibiotics and anti-infectives in biological systems, including identification of their micro and macro structures. Her projects included the design and method optimization for the synthesis of Blasticidin S analogues and studying for antibiotic activity, the synthesis of tubulin polymerization inhibitors as anti-bacterial agents specifically targeting Ftsz protein, and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectral analysis to identify the possible isomerization of the WR92210, an antimalarial drug resulting in loss of activity. Currently, they are a Sr. Scientist at Nimble Therapeutics.

Sravanthi Devi Guggilapu, Ph.D. completed their Doctor of Philosophy in Medicinal Chemistry at the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research in 2017. Prior to that, they earned their Master's Degree in Medicinal Chemistry from the same institution in 2013.
