Emily Wheeler serves as the Chief of Staff at NineDot Energy and is an Investor at TBD Angels. Previously, as President of Wheeler Energy Group, Emily launched the company to advise organizations on growth and resource management. In previous roles, including Executive Vice President of Operations and Vice President of Operations at Smarter Grid Solutions, Emily led global project delivery, managed large teams, and achieved significant revenue growth. With a background that includes managing cleantech initiatives at NYU and project management at the U.S. Department of Energy, Emily has demonstrated expertise in clean energy technologies and startup development. Emily holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and is a candidate for an M.S. in Business and Project Management at The George Washington University.

NineDot Energy creates innovative energy solutions that make the urban grid cleaner, more equitable, more resilient and less costly. Our current development focus is on building and operating battery storage sites in the New York City metropolitan area, including Westchester and Long Island. We are working to enable vehicle-to-grid (V2G) capabilities at our projects as well. The NineDot Energy name derives from the classic mathematical puzzle for sparking out-of-the-box solutions. Our “outside the box” creativity combines business model innovation and community-centered solutions to catalyze clean energy projects in high-value parts of the electric utility grid. Based at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering Urban Future Lab in Brooklyn, New York. We have received financial support from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), the New York State Energy Research and Development Agency (NYSERDA) and the Carlyle investment group, among others.
