Bass Dye is a PhD candidate at NIOZ Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research since June 2020, focusing on essential fish habitat in the Wadden Sea as part of the SWIMWAY research network. Prior to this role, Bass was a lab member in the Felix Jose Lab at Florida Gulf Coast University, where development of hydrodynamic models for a smalltooth sawfish study and analysis of oyster larval dispersal were key projects. Educationally, Bass earned a Master of Science in Environmental Science from Florida Gulf Coast University and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science with a minor in Geoscience from the University of Iowa, complemented by various research and internship experiences in hydrology, ecology, and water quality assessment.
