Marck Smit

Marck Smit is an experienced professional in marine technology and business development, currently serving as Business Development Manager and Manager Technology at NIOZ Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research since 2003. Previously, Marck held the role of Head of the Marine Technology department at the same institute. From 2014 to 2019, Marck worked as the Editor of Hydro International at Geomares Publishing. Early career experiences include serving as Project Manager Industry at COFELY GDF-SUEZ, where responsibilities included leading a team in the design and construction of mechanical and piping infrastructure, and as Production Manager at Bonna Vianen, focusing on steel pipe production. Additional project management roles at Hoogovens Steel and Nedlloyd Fleetservices revolved around logistics and technology implementation. Marck holds a Master of Science degree in Maritime Technology from Delft University of Technology.
