Marte Stoorvogel is a PhD candidate at NIOZ Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research since May 2020, focusing on tidal marshes for nature-based flood defense within the NWO project Living Lab Hedwige-Prosperpolder. Previous experience includes roles as an education assistant and student assistant at Wageningen University & Research, where work involved developing knowledge clips and assisting in courses on erosion processes and mathematics. Marte also completed an internship at Centro de Investigación en Suelos Volcánicos, contributing to research on volcanic ash soils, and conducted field and laboratory work for an MSc thesis at Kansas State University.
