Lowell Vizenor

Lowell Vizenor has a strong background in the technology industry, with their most recent position being the Director of Product Innovations at NIRA INC since April 2023. Prior to that, they served as the Chief Technology Officer and Director of Semantic Technology at Securboration from March 2015 to March 2023. Lowell also worked as the Director of Information Architecture at Refinery29, Inc. in 2013. From 2010 to 2013, Vizenor held the role of Semantic Technology Practice Lead at Alion Science and Technology. Before that, they were a Senior Ontologist and Executive Consultant at Computer Task Group from 2008 to 2010. Vizenor also worked as a Sr. Ontologist at Ontology Works Inc from 2006 to 2008. Lowell began their career as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the National Library of Medicine in 2005 and later served as a Research Fellow at the Institute for Formal Ontology and Medical Information Science (IFOMIS) from 2002 to 2004.

Lowell Vizenor completed a BA in Philosophy and German at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. Following this, Lowell obtained a PhD in Philosophy from the University at Buffalo in 2005.
