Andrew McGrath has worked in a variety of roles since 2008. Andrew began their career as a Survey Statistician at Statistics New Zealand in 2008. In 2012, they took on the role of Summer Research Intern at Victoria University of Wellington. Andrew then returned to the same institution in 2016 as a Research Assistant. That same year, they were also a Postdoctoral Research Associate at UNSW Australia. In 2018, they moved to Los Alamos National Laboratory as a Postdoctoral Research Associate. In 2020, they became a Research Scientist at C-Crete Technologies LLC. Most recently, in 2021, they have been a Principal Chemical Engineer, R&D Project Leader and Principal Chemical Engineer at Niron Magnetics, Inc.
Andrew McGrath completed a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Chemistry from The MacDiarmid Institute and a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Chemistry from Victoria University of Wellington between 2013 and 2016. Andrew also obtained a BScTech (Hons) in Chemical Products & Processes from Victoria University of Wellington between 2008 and 2013, and a BA in Japanese from the same university between 2008 and 2012.
