James Dieffenderfer is an accomplished professional in the fields of biomedical engineering and electrical engineering, currently serving as the Lead Research Scientist at NIRSense Inc since January 2024. With extensive experience as a Co-Founder of VitalFlo Inc. and VieMetrics Inc., James has also held significant academic positions, including Research Assistant Professor at North Carolina State University from April 2019 to April 2024, and Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant at the same institution from August 2012 to August 2017. Earlier in their career, James worked as a Mask Layout Designer at Qualcomm and as a Systems Engineer at C Speed. James holds a PhD in Biomedical/Medical Engineering and a degree in Electrical Engineering, both from North Carolina State University.
